[VMWARE] esxcli를 이용한 esxi 업그레이드

테스트 장비용으로 사용하고 있는 esxi용 머신은 6.5로 인스톨이 되지 않는다. 그래서 6.0으로 우선 설치 후 6.5로 업그레이드를 해야 한다.

방화벽 해제

esxcli network firewall ruleset set -e true -r httpClient

업그레이드 목록 조회

esxcli software sources profile list -d https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/PRODUCTION/main/vmw-depot-index.xml | grep -i ESXi-6

 

조회를 하고 나면 아래와 같이 설치 가능한 목록들이 나온다

업그레이드

우선 위 목록에서 원하는 날짜의 버전을 선택 한 후 아래와 같이 설치하면 된다. 참고로 no-tools를 선택하면 vmware tool이 제외된 버전으로 설치 되니 그냥 standard로 설치하는 것이 좋다.

esxcli software profile update -p <설치할 ESXi-버전> -d https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/PRODUCTION/main/vmw-depot-index.xml

방화벽 재 설정

위와 같이 업데이트가 성공적으로 끝나면 다시 방화벽을 설정한다

esxcli network firewall ruleset set -e false -r httpClient

재부팅

esxi서버를 재 부팅 해주면 아래와 같이 6.5로 업데이트 되는 것을 확인 할 수 있다.
